Official press release from VASANOC

Updated: Nov 19

Following the confirmation from the Ministry of Health of a first positive case for COVID-19, we wanted to react as the National Olympic Committee.

We would like to inform you that the protocol which is applied now is the Scenario 2A. It is a directive from the Vanuatu Ministry of Health. From VASANOC, we want to advice everyone that all sporting activities as well as events are maintained for the time being.

However, we invite you to remain vigilant and to apply the protocol as a preventive measure. Thereby, applying social distancing, washing your hands frequently with soap or sanitizer and avoiding touching your face (rubbing the eyes, hands in the mouth, etc.) are strongly recommended. We encourage all National Federations to make sure that the protocols are observed in all training and competition venues for athletes, officials, families/ friends, and spectators.

Also, our premises remain open to the public, even if we must limit the number of visitors. Therefore, if your visit is therefore not essential, we invite you to call us at +678 23230, contact us at this email address: JMalau@vasanoc.vu/ Dlolo@vasanoc.vu or on our Facebook.

The VASANOC recommends that we all follow the updates from the local authorities on www.covid19.gov.vu

We obviously remain at your disposal for any other questions concerning sports activities.
